Woman’s Outreach Group!!

An impressive group of woman members of the Chapter have formed the Ferdinand Hayden Woman’s Outreach Group, or FHWOG. Paula Fothergill (Chapter President), Valerie Thompson, Cheryl Loggins, Susan Shirley, Sue Hess, Sue Froeshley and Ginny Parker are at the core of this group.

Besides supporting the Chapter in its overall activities and events the WOG has some Woman’s only events as well. They are planning on holding monthly “Ladies Fishing Outings” and at least one Woman’s Fly Fishing Clinic for all women in the area who want to learn how to fish (without the husbands!) or who want to improve their skills.

Another project the WOG hopes to establish is a Casting for Recovery event here in the Chapter area. Casting for Recovery is a program that helps women (and men) recovering from Breast Cancer through fly fishing.

The WOG is looking for any and all women interested in participating! The next meeting will be at Taipei Tokyo in Glenwood Springs on March 23 at 6:30 p.m. Call Paula at 970-963-3051 for more information!
